The Master’s thesis „The creation of technology and quality evaluation for oleogel with eucalyptus and scots pine essential oils”. Academic supervisor doc. dr. S. Velžienė; Department of drug technology and social pharmacy in the Faculty of pharmacy in the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences – Kaunas. Project objective: to choose a suitable manufacturing technology for oleogel and evalute its quality. Project tasks: to choose a suitable manufacturing technology for oleogel with eucalyptus and scots pine essential oils based on analysed academic literature. To choose a suitable basis of oleogel and bring optimal quantity of essential oils and gelling agent material. Evaluate the quality of produced oleogels by the method of analysis. Do the stability research during the period of experiment. The object of investigation: oleogels with eucalyptus essential oils. The methods: The quality of oleogels are evaluated by centrifugation, pH establishment, the methods of viscosimetry and analysis of texture. The research of stability is done by evaluating the parameters of quality of produced oleogels after 1, 3, 6 months. The results: The appearance of oleogels did not change and phases separation after centrifugation did not happen, therefore the gels are stable. The limits of oleogels pH significance range from 4,94 to 5,06 and are slightly acid. Produced oleogels have good quality because their pH significance is similar to physiological skin pH value. The dynamical viscosity with different colloidal silicon dioxide concentration is based upon viscosimetry. It is ascertai that colloidal silicon dioxide significantly increases viscosity. Only oleogels with M7 and M8 ingredients and gels with P1 and P2 ingredients made a thick gel structure. To conclude the analysis of texture data, the hardness of gels and shear force depends on the concentration of colloidal silicon dioxide. According to the results, M7 and P1 oleogels have a better sense characteristic (the spread on the skin is better) comparing to M8 and P2 oleogels. It is researched that oleogels stay stable after the storage of 180 days. Conclusions: After the fulfilment and analysis of centrifūgavimo, pH establishment, viskozimetrijos, research of the stability and texture results, the optimal oleogels ingredients are the following: cooling gel which is from 53% olive oil, 23,4% liquid paraffin, 9% colloidal silicon dioxide, 10% eucalyptus essential oil, 4,6% menthol and warming oleogel, that is composed from 11% olive oil, 47,3% liquid paraffin, 3% colloidal silicon dioxide, 10% eucalyptus and 10% scots pine essential oils, 18,7% chili pepper.
